HNK Rotterdam Scheepvaartkwartier reopens its doors after major refurbishment
HNK Rotterdam Scheepvaartkwartier is located in the well-known neighbourhood that carries the same name and is close to the Erasmus Bridge. The interior design of the office was developed by international design studio TANK. The eye-catcher is the iconic light-green staircase in the centre of the space, which creates openness and naturally connects the ground floor with the entresol and first floor. The selected materials are surprising and sustainable with a strong focus on circularity.
The four elements
HNK's focus on well-being is reflected in the interior concept that is based on the four elements fire, air, earth and water. This creates different zones in the building. In the restaurant and bar, the element fire takes centre stage, with warm colours encouraging social connection. The co-working space radiates the freshness of the element air, providing clarity and focus. The solid element earth offers a welcoming atmosphere in the lobby, while water ensures a smooth and fluid flow through the building. In addition, music is played to suit the space and time of day, and a special fragrance has been developed to match the HNK brand.
Different ways of working
The facilities at HNK Rotterdam Scheepvaartkwartier encourage different ways of working, such as a co-working space with curved screens and refurbished Herman Miller chairs, a podcast studio with high-quality equipment and an extensive restaurant with bar. The meeting rooms are specially designed to suit the purpose of the meeting: from an important board meeting to a creative brainstorming session overlooking the lobby.
